Thirtieth Birthday Gifts: Stylish Gifting Ideas
From a 19 year old’s perspective 30 years might seem really old. Ask any 19 year old and you will know. Probably you thought that way too when you were 19. But when you finally reach 30 yourselves, you realize that it is not that old after all! Most people feel that their twenties just rushed past them and look forward to a more sedate and enjoyable decade when they turn 30. You stop thinking about birthdays very fondly, as it now means getting older. But nonetheless, a 30th birthday deserves to be celebrated in style. Worries about old age can wait for some more time – at least till you hit 40 years of age!
I remember when I turned 30 just like it yesterday thinking that I was rather stylish but I was quickly brought down a peg or two when I began opening my 30th birthday gifts from my ever-so-loving family and friends. My son gave me a great book by Dr Seuss. It was called “You're Only Old Once! A Book for Obsolete Children”! Well didn’t that take me back just a few years when I too thought that 30 certainly was approaching old age!
But my day was made, when my best friend gave me an elegant stainless steel hip flask along with my favorite bottle of Teachers! I guess, I would be able to enjoy the Dr.Suess book better, when I am down a peg or two. Otherwise I am going to remain a kid at heart – at least till my 60th birthday!
Other memorable gifts that I received include fancy keepsakes, amazing perfumes, exotic chocolates, coffee mugs with great messages, and a nice set of shot glasses. The message that really made me laugh out loud was “It Took Me 30 Years to Look this Good” and I have kept it in my office cabin. My colleagues don’t really agree with the message though J.
My children did try to make amends for that Dr.Suess gaffe, with a fabulous “Greatest Mum in the Universe” goblet. It had a nice sparkling stone encrusting and was really tall ! I guess the happiness that it gave was the cause of my dizzy head the next day – or maybe it was all the booze that I had. Anyway, the party was rocking! I enjoyed it – so did all the friends and family who attended. I will certainly remember that day forever in my life, thanks to the great fun that I had and the amazing gifts that I got!.
If you have a friend that is turning 30 do be sure to give a gift that ensures plenty of laughter and good memories of the festivities. And don’t forget that albums and photo frames make terrific 30th birthday gifts as well; especially if you get some great pictures of the fabulous party celebration in full swing.
