So You Forgot Valentines Day…Use These Gift Ideas

If you’re reading this article you’re in a bit of trouble…you’ve left it to the last minute to buy  a valentines day gift for her and you’ve got nothing. No inspiration, zero ideas, no clue = a quiet night in the sack for you if you can’t come up with something.

And you expect to find something here?

To be honest with you, that’s some amount of pressure – I can’t promise you anything, but by the end of this article I’m hoping you’ll have a few ideas of your own. You might even be hit with a flash of inspiration that you can run with

Last Minute Option A – Dinner At A Classy Restaurant

Here’s the thing, you and I both know that the chances of getting a table at a romantic restaurant with no booking on the 14th February are pretty slim.

So here’s an alternative for you.

If it’s still the 13th (ie it’s valentines day tomorrow), then one thing you can use to your advantage is the element of surprise. Tell her to get dressed up & throw on her dancing shoes…but don’t tell her why, then take her to the restaurant.

Spin a story about hating the commercialism of valentines day and how you being a true romantic want to avoid doing the same thing as everyone else.

Last Minute Option B – A Romantic Night In

If you’re handy in the kitchen this is your get out of jail free card. Dimmed lights, candles and some Miles Davis. Whip up your signature dish and give her just enough good wine to bring a blush to her cheek and you should be all set.

If you really want to spice things up a bit, here’s a list of foods that are considered to be aphrodisacs – alcohol (not really a food I know), oysters, asparagus, figs, chocolates and bananas.

Last Minute Option C – The Frantic Scramble

It’s too late for you to order a gift online, so you need to do this the old fashion way – hit the local shops and scan every single shelf until that perfect gift jumps out and grabs you. At this stage there’s not really any other option. You’ve got nothing planned, you can’t cook and all the restaurants are booked.

You need to try and avoid her until late in the day and hopefully by that stage your problems will have been solved by a friendly shop assistant at a small boutique gift store you discovered in a part of town you never knew existed.

And then maybe you’ll make a note in your diary to be a bit more organised next year about buying some romantic gifts for her…but we both know that probably won’t happen.

Best of luck
