Guide To Making Duvet Covers
Are you thinking of making your own duvet cover? Then you are just the right person to read this article. You need to read the article right through to the end to benefit from its valuable tips.
There are a number of alternative ways to make duvet covers. My focus will be on just one specific one. Let me just ease your possible worry – it is quite easy to create a duvet cover just as long as you follow all the laid our procedures. With this you don’t have to go aroud looking for discount duvet sets or branded ones line pottery barn floral embroidered duvet covers- queen
First thing first, choose the fabric you will be using. You will also have to take some measurements that is the width and the length using a tape measure. Knowing the best size that you will be using it on is important. For instance, is it a queen, king, twin or single bed?
Now here is what I suggest you do. Two things, look for a washable material and (2) make sure it does offer some decorative appeal. I suggest you go for a lightweight fabric that will feel comfortable. While you are making those choices do not forget to think about the climatic conditions of your area.
Start by choosing two lengths of fabric spanning about 54 inches. It is always good to make it slightly wider. This will be used on the front of the duvet cover. Be sure that the panels are the same size as the measurements of the length as mentioned earlier.
-Look for fabric that is a home decorator. make these about fifty four inches wider. Chances are your duvet is wider. if you do have a wider duvet you can just purchase another panel of material.
-The next thing to consider is prints and patterns. depending on the type of prints you will go for some adjustments may be necessary. for instance, you may have to elongate your panels.
-The next step is to pre-wash and then iron the material.
-Now simply fold the front panel in half lengthwise.
-In order to make sure the creases are sharp at the folds iron the fabric first. It will then be easy to continue once you’ve done that.
-Do this to the back panels as well.
-Now you need to draw a line that goes down the length of the crease on the panel. You will need a fabric marking pen and a yard stick for this task.
-you need to make six panels by cutting out each line. i.e., 3 will be used for the back and then three shall be used on the front part of the cover.
-Now the next step on your project of making a duvet cover is to simply pin one panel that is narrow to one side of the front panel that is still uncut. pin it down so that all the edges of the material are tightly knit together & make sure that the sides are also lined up quite as well.
These tips provided above should be enough for you to create your own duvet cover. The missing parts in this article are left out because the rest of the work from here on can be customized to suite your own individual taste.
