Their conquest influenced jewelry design along the way.Designer began to take ideas from other cultures.They loved big and eye catching pieces that would catch the eye. The ring was one of the more popular jewelry pieces.
Rings were a symbol to the Romans. Upper class roman woman would wear many rings.The goals was that as people saw your glimmering hands that they would know that your status was higher than theirs. Rings were not the only pieces of jewelry that the ancient Romans enjoyed wearing.
The nech, wrist, and ears were also areas of the body for jewelry.Earrings, Necklaces, and bracelets were also popular. The ancient Roman jewelry designers created some designs that we still find today.It was the Romans that created the cameo pendant. The cameo has become a traditional and classic piece today that many women have in their wardrobe.Hoop earrings were also an ancient Roman piece.
Lots of women today have hoop earrings. Jewelery was one of the many areas Rome influenced modern society. Many women have jewelry designs today that were originiated in ancient Rome but are completely unaware.
